Students in Mrs. DiLuglio's class at North Scituate Elementary are coaching each other on addition, subtraction, and estimating to see if our answers make sense as they prepare for an upcoming assessment. Great teamwork and focus!
North Scituate's second-grade students visited Roger Williams Park Zoo and explored the Insect Program! They examined an insectivore (Leopard Gecko) and compared an insect (Madagascar Hissing Cockroach) with an arachnid (Pink Chilean Tarantula).Thanks, PTO!
Students in Mrs. Dupre's class at North Scituate Elementary have been working on building number sense with the use of rekenreks. The math counting frame helps students visualize addition and subtraction strategies, plus they are a great hands-on activity that the students always look forward to!
Kindergarten students at North Scituate Elementary learned about 2D shapes this month! Students were able to take turns sorting shapes based on their properties, curves or no curves (straight lines). Students used "turn and talk" to chat with a partner about their shape, and then returned to their seats for a cutting, gluing, and sorting shape activity!

Scituate elementary students had an enchanting chorus performance at the Hope Tree Lighting a few weeks ago! Their performance was described as making the night wonderful, magical, and memorable!!

In STEAM, grade 4 students at North Scituate Elementary had to work in groups to construct something that could hold extreme weight. This is our winning group!
Look at these Reading Rockstars in Mrs. DiLuglio's class at North Scituate Elementary! These students have already read 200 steps (1 step=15 minutes so in total 50 hours) which is above the current target.
